Not surprising, Gumiho is in 1st place with 31% of the votes. 2nd place is row 18 (Playfull Kiss). These two will probably be pitted against the most mainly because of the two male actor leads (Lee Seung Gi and Kim Hyun Joong), but also because of the similarity in drama genre.

But in terms of tv ratings, they both will be going up against Yoon Shi Yoon in Baker King, Kimg Tak Goo. Baker King might get some episode extensions (it’s still up in the air) and then Gumiho premieres on Aug 11 and then Playful Kiss will premiere in September. Since they’re all premiering at different times, it should be interesting…
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho fans will get an extra treat earlier than expected when they air the Strong Heart Gumiho special part 1 on August 3, part 2 on August 10, and then the drama premiere on August 11! LSG and SMA and other cast members filmed the SH episode on Thursday and it’s been all over the korean news since, especially b/c SeungGi is co-host of the show, and it’s MinAh’s first variety appearance in a long time! According to fan acounts, she said that she had come out to throw her suppport behind SeungGi, and SeungGi was supposedly very attentive to her on the set! Aww,

As I wrote before, I’m not a big fan of the gazillion polls that they do in Korea especially because usually it’s some silly topic like who’s best fitted for graduation cap and gown (which SeungGi was in the top 5 for); and also because the poll results can have a really small sample size but the press write about it like it’s totally scientific! And SeungGi tops a poll like every other day that it’s just a bit too much!
However… this is one of the first drama polls I’ve seen that actually has a large number of votes! There’s also one up on Nate between My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and Playful Kiss. but you have to log in…
And with so much anticipation about the upcoming dramas, this poll is definitely worth voting for! We should support SeungGi and the drama as much as we can. Didn’t want ppl to think we were taking the ratings too too seriously, so I deleted the part about voting on as many different computers as you can, but now with the#1 spot not guranteed, I’m putting that back in here! SeungGi and his drama deserve to be #1 and even if it’s just a poll, we should try to support him, no?! :)
